On payment for despised work

Everyone hates low-paying workers. For example, bus drivers or dishwashers. They're unwilling to pay them properly. Absolutely not. Even government officials aren't paid properly because everyone hates them. There are two circumstances that prove the necessity of high salaries in some cases and the prohibition even on discussing their reduction. The first is the overall budget that a person manages. So, a bus driver operates a 10 million ruble vehicle and transports people worth up to 800 million rubles, well, in terms of their value, roughly speaking. Essentially, they're a government official handling a fairly simple procedure, but over a very large amount of capital. They need to transport it quickly and with the utmost care. And to do that, they need to be paid twice as much. The situation with government officials is even more illustrative: people with a combined salary of 10 million can regularly make decisions worth 100 billion rubles. 0.1% is too small a fee for managing capital. And saying "that way they'll steal" is a very stupid move. Theft is a mutual disaster. They have risk and money that's hard to spend. It's entirely possible for society to burn a billion to steal a million. That is, they could be given 100 million in official salary and still keep 900 million. Secondly, there are delays. If a dishwasher doesn't show up for her shift and a cook on a cook's salary ends up having to wash the dishes, that's a similar problem. Her salary should be higher, but with the stipulation that she must show up for shifts. If a "low-level" employee maintains critical infrastructure, they should be paid a substantial premium for this criticality.
